♦ Curriculum Overview ♦
USAT presents an innovative MD curriculum that conveniently incorporates critical areas of nutrition, complementary and alternative medicine, and physical medicine into the traditional basic science years. Students are exposed to a clinical type setting from the first semester. The basic sciences consists of 2 years of coursework comprising of medical science and preclinical science knowledge.

Note: Students may apply the credits earned in Year 1 toward the degree of Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 is required for progression to Year 2 and a minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in order to award the Bachelor’s degree.

Note: A comprehensive Examination will be administered at the completion of Year 2. Successful completion of Step I of the USMLE may substitute for the Comprehensive examination.
Certification of Completion: A certificate of completion of Basic Medical Sciences will be issued upon successful completion of the Basic Medical Sciences coursework. Qualified students who hold a Bachelor’s degree may apply the graduate credits earned in the Basic Medical Sciences toward a non-thesis Master of Sciences Degree, with a specialty in Medical Sciences. A minimum GPA of 2.75 is required for progression to Year 3 and beyond, and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Graduate Level Coursework is required for the awarding of the Master of Science Degree in any specialty.
